Welcome to the wonderful world of amateur dramatics!
CADOS is a friendly, thriving amateur theatre group based on the East London/Essex border. We've been entertaining the people of Chingford for almost 75 years! Our adult group usually stages two musicals or plays a year and meets on Monday and Wednesday evenings for rehearsals.
We've recently relaunched our children's performing arts classes! Find out more about CADOS Young Stars.
We are based at Mornington Hall - a popular and historic community venue which is also available to hire at very reasonable rates.
A big thank you to all who supported our sellout production of 'The Addams Family'. And if you think it looks like we're having fun in the photos, why not become a member?
We’ve been through a tough few years. But our efforts to breathe new life into Chingford’s only remaining theatre society were rewarded at the recent NODA London Festival Weekend. We're now the proud holders of the 'Constance Power' trophy.
“CADOS have brought themselves back from the brink of extinction. With a growing determination, their shows have been like a Phoenix rising out of the ashes. They have worked tirelessly to create an interesting society. It seems they are going from strength to strength. This only happens with a committed group of people, strong leadership and determination.”
NODA Regional Rep Lindsey Kennedy
A huge thank you to everyone who is part of the CADOS family – performers, patrons, committee members, helpers and audience members alike. Let’s keep up the good work for many years to come!
Meanwhile our very own Fran Chalkwright also won a NODA 'Flame Award' and Daniel Baker was nominated for the 'Best Performance in a Pantomime' award for his fabulous Sarah the Cook in Dick Whittington.
